Consumerism

I am more and more sure that the problems we have in the US and the world are because of very simple issues: nationalism, religion, race, class, selfishness, shortsightedness. In the US I believe Madison Avenue has significant control over people's lives. We buy too much, we waste too much, we drive too much, we watch too much TV, we move too fast never slowing to see where we're going. This painting is about that concern. Titled "Nothing Sacred".

Mixed media, acrylics, and collage on a discarded cabinet door.
